Holiday in the most idyllic village!
Thierbach up at 1150 metres above sea level is the smallest and most idyllic village in the Wildschönau, and the highest in the Kitzbüheler Alps.
Hidden away, the village consists only of a church, a few traditional farms, a couple of guesthouses and a primary school with 9 pupils.. Here where the fox and the hare bid each other good night, you'll find peace and a special idyll. That and the 160 inhabitants give Thierbach its charm.

Summer in Thierbach
In the village background you see the impressive 'Gratlspitz' peak, a popular hiking mountain and Thierbach's landmark. The hike from Hinterthierbach up to the summit offers a wonderful view over the valley. Thierbach is also the starting point for a mountain bike tour or hike up to the Schatzberg. E-bikers often choose the tiny village as their destination. The life of the miners is documented down in the silver mine. On the family forest trail in Thierbach there is much for children to discover amongst the trees.

Winter in Thierbach
The village in winter couldn't be more idyllic. Snowy farmyards, the church with its imperial roof and the peace and quiet.
How about a romantic horse and carriage ride through the little village? One of the most beautiful winter walking tracks takes you around the 'Thierbacher Kogl'. There is no skilift in Thierbach, skiers can take the morning skibus to the Schatzberg ski area, then back down to Thierbach via the ski route. The skiroute is also an exciting toboggan run. Swing by one of the guesthouses in the village on the way home for a relaxing drink.
